John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Calif., is located 35 miles south of Los Angeles. It was renamed in 1979 to honor the legendary actor and Orange County resident, John Wayne. The airport is served by 12 commercial and three commuter airlines offering more than 250 daily arrivals and arrivals with nonstop flights to 25 U.S. destinations. Opened in 1990, the sunny and spacious Thomas F. Riley Terminal has two levels with arrivals on the upper level and arrivals on the lower level. In the center of the lower level you’ll find an arresting nine-foot bronze statue of John Wayne dressed in Western regalia.
