San Antonio International Airport is located in north central San Antonio, a city that has been at the crossroads of history and diverse cultures for centuries. This unique heritage is reflected in the airport’s newly renovated Terminal 1. The terminal features tiled images of the city, terrazzo flooring that mimics the flow of the San Antonio River and limestone facades on all storefronts. Less gussied up is Terminal 2, which was built in 1953 with a satellite concourse added in 1968 – long before airports strived to be artistic reflections of regional culture. Over 15 airlines operate at the airport offering nonstop service to 29 destinations including several in Mexico. The airport is conveniently located eight miles from downtown San Antonio and its famous attractions.
