DIA Airport airport is easily accessed by interstate highways and is conveniently located less than 35 minutes from downtown Denver by car, shuttle buses, public transportation or taxis.
Peña Boulevard is the primary route to Denver International Airport. The boulevard is accessible from Interstate 70 (Exit 284 eastbound, Exit 285 westbound), from Airport Boulevard, from Tower Road or from the E-470 toll road.
Denver International Airport is like an apparition of snowy white peaks floating over the empty plains east of Denver, Colo. Locals may gripe about the 30 to 45 minute drive to the airport, but with all that elbow room Denver is one of the largest airports in the world and still has room to grow. The airport’s main terminal features a light and airy central atrium with a canopy ceiling of fiberglass fabric that resembles the peaks and valleys of the nearby mountains. The dual-sided terminal – carriers are organized by Terminal West and Terminal East – separates traffic into three levels: the upper level is for arrivals, the mid-level is for ground transportation and the lower level is for passenger pick-up. The gates are arranged along three concourses connected to each other and the main terminal by a people-mover train. Concourse A, home to Denver-based Frontier Airlines, is also connected to the main terminal by a unique walkway that provides great views of airplanes and the mountains in the distance.
