Bush Intercontinental Airport is Houston’s largest airport and it’s the eighth busiest airport in the U.S. for total passengers. The airport opened in June 1969, and although many renovations and expansions have been completed since that time some parts of the airport look a bit ragged around the edges. The airport is served by 23 passenger airlines and provides nonstop flights to 152 cities around the world. In fact, the airport is also the eighth largest international passenger gateway in the nation. There are five passenger terminals which are connected by a rather slow underground passenger train and concourses B and C are also connected by TerminalLink, a new above-ground train. Houston-headquartered Continental Airlines uses the airport as a major hub and operates out of terminals C, D and E.
