Ontario International Airport, a medium-hub airport, is located 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the west end of San Bernardino County. The airport has experienced a 500% increase in airline passenger volumes in the last 10 years. To accommodate the growth, the airport opened twin terminals in 1998 that can accommodate up to 10 million passengers a year. When passenger traffic reaches 10 million in two consecutive years, a third terminal will be constructed. In addition to the two new terminals, the airport has an International Arrivals Terminal used by AeroMexico and Lineas Aereas Azteca. The13 airlines serving the airport include AeroMexico, Alaska, America West, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, jetBlue, Lineas Aereas Azteca, Northwest, Southwest, United/Ted, and United Express offering nonstop flights to many major U.S. cities and connecting service to many international destinations.
