Honolulu International Airport is where many dream vacations begin as the major aviation center for the Hawaiian Islands. The airport is located on the island of Oahu around four miles west of downtown Honolulu and nine miles from the legendary Waikiki Beach. The airport is served by over 20 major domestic and international airlines and is a hub for Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. All overseas flights arrive in the Main Overseas Terminal and connecting flights to other islands depart from the Interisland Terminal or the Commuter Terminal. The Wiki-Wiki Express is a free shuttle that connects the terminal buildings. Or, if you wish to stretch your legs after the long flight to the islands, the Interisland Terminal is a 10-15 minute walk from the Main Overseas Terminal. Add on an extra 5-10 minutes to walk to the Commuter Terminal.
